There was also a paid section in the clinic and when Elisabetta was transferred to that department the Sisters immediately told her that she should never contradict the patients. But when one morning during the rounds to wash the patients one told her that he wanted to be washed without the use of gloves and sponge she refused and went to tell the nun about the man's request. The nun's response was that he, who was a "respectable" person, was allergic to latex and synthetic materials and therefore had to do it. Elisabetta obeyed and with embarrassment washed that man with her bare hands.......... and found them full of sperm!
